Michael E. Goodboe is the Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Chief Learning Officer (CLO) for G4S Wackenhut. He is in his 26th year with the company, starting as Manager of Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Programs in Corporate Human Resources, moving to head Training some 19 years, and then promoted to head both Corporate Human Resources and G4S North America Training Institute. He leads a staff of 16. Under his leadership, both G4S North America Training Institute and Corporate Human Resources achieved ISO 9001:2001 registration, and the training organization won ASTD's Best Award in 2009, and Training Magazine's Top 125 Training Organizations' award in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
Dr. Goodboe joined Wackenhut from the U.S. Navy, where he rose from enlisted to commissioned ranks and served as a national intelligence analyst. Certified as a translator of Portuguese, Spanish, and Polish by the Defense Language Institute, he served in Asia, Europe, South America and throughout the United States.
Michael holds an Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts from Northern Virginia Community College, a Bachelor's in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland, a Master's in Human Resource Management from Pepperdine University, and a Doctorate in Higher Education from Nova Southeastern University. He has held adjunct teaching positions with City Colleges of Chicago, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Barry University and St. Leo University. He has taught in the U.S. and in Spain.
Dr. Goodboe was appointed for two four-year terms to the Private Investigation, Recovery and Security Advisory Council by Florida?s secretary of state. The council advises the secretary of state on security matters in Florida. In 2003, he was appointed by the President of ASIS International (formerly, the American Society for Industrial Security) to the Strategic Planning Committee for that organization. He served as the chairman of the National Association of Security Companies (NASCO), an industry leadership group representing companies employing over 400,000 security personnel in the United States, and is on the Advisory Board for the American Council on Education. He belongs to the the American Management Association (AMA), ASIS International, and is a member of ASIS? Academic Symposium.
Dr. Goodboe is an industry-recognized expert in security training. He has advised a number of U.S. state security regulatory agencies during their development of training standards for the security industry and has served on similar boards for ASIS International. His doctoral dissertation, The Development of an Entry-Level Model Curriculum, Optimum Training Methodology, and Implementation and Evaluation Plans for Unarmed Contract Security Officers, is cited in the literature as a nascent study on security officer training standards. A Myers-Briggs Type Indicator certified practitioner, he has done unique studies on the learning styles of security officers and the organizational culture of security organizations. He is currently specializing in psychometrics, 360 Degree Feedback, and executive coaching.

Tom Land has over 25 years of domestic and international experience partnering with business and human resources executives developing leaders and improving organizational performance in corporate, healthcare, public and academic settings. He is Assistant Vice President of Talent Management at Baptist Health South Florida responsible for enterprise Talent Management, Succession Planning, and Performance Management and served as the CLO. He was Dean of Training and Workforce Development at Nova Southeastern University, where he was responsible for developing a for-profit training consulting business and taught organizational leadership in the doctoral program. Prior to joining NSU in 2001, Tom worked for Motorola for 20 years in key training and development positions including Director for the Southeast Region for Motorola University / Director, Engineering Training; Senior Training Manager Asia-Pacific (Singapore)/ Director, Leadership Development for the Motorola Communications Sector. Earlier in his career Dr. Land served in a variety of community, health care, and social services organizations in Philadelphia and South Florida. |
